Vivid Colors - What are some things I should know?

While vivids are fun, they're not for the faint of heart.

They are time consuming not only in the salon, but also require different maintenance at home than your 'typical' colors.

Spacing out washes. Sulfate free shampoos specifically formulated for color care, coming in for refreshes, and/or using color depositing conditioners at home. And the NON-NEGOTIABLE: cold water - ALL THE TIME or you'll be back to see me in no time at all. Cool water keeps the cuticle of your hair more compact & you'll lose less pigment down the drain.

Vivids can be very expensive, time consuming and involve a lot of product. For your first vivids appointment plan for two full color processes - first a blonding session, and then a wash/dry & second round of color.

That being said, I have a lot of clients that we do a vivids refresh (without blonding) every 6-8 weeks to keep those colors looking as vibrant as possible. Often with proper color placement for your lifestyle we can do a refresh 2-4 visits before another full blonding session, depending on your preferences.

Vivids can be for anyone! I can't tell you how many of my clients have said "If I was younger I totally would" or "oh I could never pull that off" well, my friend, GUESS WHAT? YOU CAN! We just have to find the right color, & look for you, taking your style and maintenance goals into mind. I have vivid clients of all ages, from first school haircut 'let's put a little piece of pink in there' to my vivids clients that have all their natural silver that say 'I've always wanted to do this and I'm not getting any younger' EVERYONE CAN HAVE FUN HAIR!
